140th Commencement Exercises

North Carolina Central University’s 140th Commencement Exercises will be held in McDougald-McLendon Arena on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 9 a.m. (baccalaureate) and 2 p.m. (graduate and professional).

Both ceremonies will be streamed on NCCU’s YouTube channel and the university’s website.

140th Commencement Exercises: Highlights

The Undergraduate Ceremony will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 9 a.m. 

The Graduate and Professional Ceremony will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 2 p.m.

Students may pick up honor cords from their departments on December 8 and 9, 2022.

Graduating students must adhere to the Commencement Decorum Agreement.

A virtual rehearsal will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 8–9:30 a.m. for  graduate/professional students and from 10-11:30 a.m. for undergraduate students.

Commencement Speaker

Brandon McEachern '05, founder and CEO of the famed Broccoli City Festival and Think Broccoli LLC,  a social enterprise organization that focuses on building thriving urban communities that sustain future generations, will address Fall #NCCU22 graduates on Dec. 10 at McDougald-McLendon Arena.

When Erica Wade lost her daughter to a rare genetic condition in May, she wanted to leave the nursing program. But with support from her husband and NCCU community, she will earn her degree on Dec. 10.
