The NCCU Police Department offers Run, Hide, Fight active shooter training to students, faculty, and staff. The purpose of the training is to equip NCCU community members with the necessary knowledge to respond if faced with an active shooter incident on campus. The training is available as requested to university departments and groups.

Campus Security Authority (CSA) Training provides in-depth knowledge of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) to those designated as Campus Security Authorities to ensure they understand their role as a CSA and their crime reporting responsibilities within their capacity as a CSA.

The departmental internship program is designed to provide an experiential learning experience to students who are interested in the law enforcement field. Though many criminal justice majors take advantage of this program, there are also opportunities for students in IT, business administration, and communications programs. The Police Department is happy to partner with student groups and campus departments to share crime prevention training catered to unique needs. General inquiries for programming may be sent to [email protected]. Please send your request 3–4 weeks prior to your requested date so that we may contact you for additional details.
Throughout the year, various campus departments host events that may require police and security presence. So that we can ensure adequate staffing, student groups and campus departments may submit the Request for Off-Duty Law Enforcement/Security Personnel Form. A review will be completed by the department administration to determine available staff and ensure successful events campus-wide.
