Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the easiest way to give?

A: Payroll deduction, it’s the most convenient way to make your contribution. Simply fill out the form and return it to an Institutional Advancement staff member. Payroll deduction forms must be received by the 10th to be included in this month’s deduction.

You may also give using a check or credit card (MasterCard or VISA).


Q: Where does my money go?

A: General Scholarships, University Support, or to a specific area designated by you. In fiscal year 2006-2007 we were able to assist 84 students with book vouchers for a total amount of $39,514.46 and Scholarship Support for 220 students for a total amount of $287,621.93.


Q: Can I give my gift to more than one area?

A: Yes, Simply write the name of the organization/program and the amount you wish to designate on your pledge form.


Q: Why should I give?

A: Although we are a state-supported institution, we only receive a portion of our budget from the State, tuition and fees. The rest is covered by private support.


Q: What’s the difference between the SECC and Faculty/Staff Campaign?

A: The State Employees Combined Campaign provides an opportunity for all State Employees to give to their favorite charities or causes (AHA, UNCF, etc). It is not a part of the Faculty/Staff Campaign; however, the NCCU Foundation is listed in the SECC brochure.


Q: If I give to the NCCU Foundation via the SECC, where does my money go?

A: University Support, you cannot designate your gift in the SECC Campaign.
