Procedure for International Transfer Students

All International students attending another university and/or college within the United States and planning to transfer to North Carolina Central University must submit an F-1 Student Visa Transfer Clearance Form. The F-1 Student Visa Transfer Clearance Form must he signed by your current international student advisor with a release date of SEVIS I-20, other documents listed below should be included:

  • Current copies of SEVIS I-20, passport, F-1 Visa and I-94  
  • Completed Financial Statement,
  • Personal/sponsor/bank statements,
  • school letter for scholarship or government official letter showing evidence of sufficient funds available for tuition and living expense in the amount at least $30,500.  
If you are presently in F-1 status at another institution and plan to transfer to NCCU and staying within the US you will need to process your transfer through the International Student Office.

If you are in F-1 status and plan to leave the US and reenter from abroad before you begin your program at NCCU, please contact the International Students Office.

F-1 students transferring from other institutions in the US to NCCU must check in the Office of International Students Services before registration. If you do no check in to complete the transfer process, you will be considered out of status.

Consideration For Admission

International transfer students will be required to meet the above criteria as well as the following in order to be considered for admissions.

1. All students must provide a Confidential Statement from the previous university attended.

2. Students must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.  Transcripts must be official documentation or notarized copies.  Any other documentation will not be accepted.

3. If a student has attended a university or college within the U.S., students must provide a F-1 Visa Clearance Form.

4. Transfer students must also provide front and back copies of their: I-94, I-20, Passport and Visa.

5. Transfer students within the USA (F-1), must be cleared by the International Student Advisor, prior to completing the admissions process.  FAILURE TO BE CLEARED BY THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADVISOR WILL RESULT IN A DELAY IN THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS.


All International Students must complete each part of the application process to gain admissions.  Failure to do say may result in a delay of admissions.

Deadlines

Due to the time that it takes to process international students, there are deadlines that international students must adhere to.  These deadlines help to ensure that material for the I-20 is completed in a timely enough manor for students.  The deadlines are as follows:

Fall                         May 1
Spring                    October 1

Deadlines are for completed applications.  Applications not completed by the deadline will be considered for the next appropriate term of entry to the University.
