Procedures for Freshmen International Students

  1. All students must file a complete application with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as well as a $40 (non-refundable) application fee.  Applications that have not been filled out completely will not be processed.
  2. All International Students must complete the supplemental application for international students located in the back of the application booklet.  An application for admissions as well as, the International Student Supplement Application must be provided in order for an International Student to be complete.
  3. Transfer or freshman applicants must submit official transcripts from each high school, college or university attended within the US or outside the US. Students who have attended a foreign high school, college or university outside the US must submit an official "course-by-course" evaluation of all courses via one of the NACES-accredited  (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) foreign credential evaluation services listed:

  7. International students must provide a Financial Certificate, which must have an official bank statement attached.  Bank statements not on official bank letterhead will not be accepted and may cause a delay in the admissions process. The bank statement must prove that a student has access to $30,500 to pay their tuition for two semesters at North Carolina Central University. All international students will be required to present scores from the TOEFL or the SAT. An international student must have at least a combined critical reading and math SAT total of 750. On the TOEFL the scores must be 500 for the paper test, 173 for the computer based test and 90 on the Internet based. At least one of these tests is required for admissions.
    • All International Students must complete each part of the application process to gain admissions.  Failure to do say may result in a delay of admissions.

      Deadlines
      Due to the time that it takes to process international students, there are deadlines that international students must adhere to.  These deadlines help to ensure that material for the I-20 is completed in a timely enough manor for students.  The deadlines are as follows:

      Deadlines are for completed applications.  Applications not completed by the deadline will be considered for the next appropriate term of entry to the University.
